  1. Accepted off Second Tier IP July 11th GPA 4.0 MCAT 513 Full Rural
  2. Looking to start a thread about this years wait list movement and keep each other updated about if anyone hears anything. Does anybody know how many individuals per tier the waitlist has this year? I know we probably won't hear anything for a while, but feel free to post if you're also waiting! I'm second tier IP and not sure if I should feel optimistic or if my chances are slim.
  3. Accepted/Waitlisted/Regrets: Waitlisted (2nd tier) In Province (IP)/ Out of Province (OOP): IP AGPA (x.xx/4.5): 4.0 MCAT (xx.xx/528): 513 Rural/Non-Rural: Full rural Advanced Academics (PhD, pubs, academic appointment): 0
  4. Hi All, Does anyone have any idea how important your recommendations are to the overall application? This is my first year applying and interviewing and I had a past work supervisor, family friend who is a nurse, and a principal do my recommendations but I did not have specifically a professor or supervisor from research or anything. I am wondering if the more 'personal' (but not breaking the rules) referees will be frowned upon or weaken my application? I am sure they said good things. Any insight is helpful. Thanks
  5. After saying the 'today' deadline, in the letter it says 'if your recommender does not submit in a timely matter you may choose a new one,' etc.. this makes me think its probably not too too strict. Have they submitted yet? Thats so stressful.
  6. I tried emailing and got no reply. If people want to email me at mahonr@myumanitoba.ca I can set up an iMessage/kik/Whatsapp group!
  7. Time Stamp: 1:09 PM Invite/Reject: Reject GPA: 3.71 CARS: 127 (513) Casper: Seemed okay, I'm a really fast typer which i think helped Geography: IP Expected the rejection given my GPA and average CARS. Landed an interview at U of M where i did undergrad (they adjust GPA and look at full MCAT) so I'm thinking casper should have been fine. Not expecting much from other Ontario schools.
  8. Hi there, looking for anyone in the Kenora area who wants to do some MMI prep! Reply or message me please!
  9. Should we try to organize something? Is anyone else interested?
  10. Invited IP AGPA 4.00 MCAT 513 Rural (every box checked) Some SES This will be my first medical school interview and I am so excited and nervous !!!
  11. Hi there, I need help figuring out how to boost my statistics to get the best chance at an interview next cycle. AGPA = 4.06 MCAT = 510 Rural = every box checked SES = one box I realize that my numbers are slightly below what the admissions committee is looking for. I have time to rewrite my MCAT for the upcoming 2019 cycle application, or to boost my AGPA via distance ed and rewrite my MCAT for the cycle 2020 cycle. Does anyone have any recommendations? Im wondering if i should just submit this as it is, and take some time off and really prep for the 2020 cycle, or try and raise my MCAT by 4-5 points before the end of summer (for 2019). Would 514/515 be high enough? I come from a non traditional not science background and have risen my MCAT from a 504 on my first try to a 510 on my second, but I felt almost maxed out. I am unsure about how much higher than a 514 I could get it by August. Raising it 6 points took about a month of nonstop cramming, and my practice test scores were sort of hitting a plateau at 510 (+/-). Any tips or insight is appreciated, thank you!
