  1. Ip and refused I mentally prepared myself all night but still hurts does anyone know where I can get the rankings?
  2. Same. I don’t know if I should call the admission office
  3. I don't see anything on my end and I am also IP, does that mean I won't get an interview?
  4. I called OMSAS earlier, and was told as long as you submit your application by October 1st, it should be fine. Good luck!
  5. I also do not see where it states that we must include at least 3 things we learned. Can someone please advise? Thank you.
  6. Hi, I am aware that on average, canadian applicants apply multiple times before getting accepted, but does the first time/re-applicant status matter in the application process? On OMSAS, it actually asks whether or not I have applied in previous years, I’m a little concerned as I’m an order applicant, applying for the first time after a graduate degree, and I really hope that i won’t be penalized for being a first time applicant. Thank you.
  7. I think their cut-off of 3.7 is firm for everyone (with or without a grad degree).
  8. I didn't even apply to UBC this year, but still had a dream that I got rejected by UBC last night......
  9. Thank you for your reply. I am actually thinking to do 5 full year courses next year, and could potentially bring my wGPA up to a low 3.8 given that U of T would take off 5 lowest full year courses. Do you think a 3.8 is still below average for the grad applicant pool?
  10. Thanks again for the information, it's great to know! I will pm you with another question!
  11. Thank you so much for your reply!! We are indeed in a very similar situation, and best of luck on your upcoming interview! One more question, Is there a particular reason why you chose York to do your special year, and how do you like it there? Thanks!
  12. Hi everyone, I did my undergrad at McGill and ended up with a cGPA of 3.59 in science, bc I suffered a lot from my second year (3.15 in the 2nd year due to bad studying strategies I guess VS 3.82 in last 2 years). I am now doing my masters in Ontario and will graduate with 2 first author publications in clinical research. I think my ECs are above average. With a cGPA this low, do you think I have a chance as an IP applicant (tho I don't speak french)? Would it help to write an academic explanation letter? Also to the best of my knowledge I don't think McGill considers GPA from non-degree undergrad courses taken after graduation right? Your opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  13. Does anyone know how the special year works for conditional acceptance?  I did a 4-year undergrad, and my last 2 year GPA were (3.74 and 3.86), however, I only had 28 CH in year 3, so it won't be considered a full course load by western. I am therefore looking to apply this year with only one year that meets the GPA cutoff. My question is: Do I have to take the special year courses during the application cycle?  In other words, I don't wanna waste my time taking another full year of undergrad classes if they are not gonna accept me. Or would it be possible to take the special year after I get my conditional acceptance?  I am currently in the 2nd year of my master's program and will graduate with 2 first authored publications by the summer. Also, does it matter where I go for the special year? Thank you all so much in advance!
