  1. Thank you for the information, useful ! I'll keep my fingers crossed
  2. Hi guys, I'm a PGY1 in Ontario, looking for a possible transfer of program, anywhere. I don't really understand the process for the transfer. The information provided simply stipulated to send a letter on intention, that is general, and provide them with a list of the discipline/schools. Does any one has gone through a program transfer ? Odds? Is there any way to know if there is an available spot for a transfer in any discipline, or not? There is so many questions I have but I really have no clue where to look to find these answers.. Thank you all. Ps. I know already about CaRMS 2nd iteration, and re-entry program in Ontario.
  3. I'm just coming into this great discussion. I am happy that some shed light on that taboo topic. I was wondering, is it viable to believe a GP could have only a practice of ER / Hospitalist . If so, how would you say they would earn up to , money-wise. I'm super interested in ER, but I keep hearing that CFCP-EM docs don't make any interesting money.. Thanks for your posts guys
  4. Most of Ontario : Clinics are tele-consults, so most of the time the residents currently in FM rotation are pulled from the clinics and are helping with ER services, admissions (depending if they are at a community hospital), hospitalist wards.
  5. Thanks it helps and yes I will on top of those verifications right away!
  6. Hello, I recently matched to Ottawa FM. Coming from Quebec, I wonder about many things : - In Quebec, there is a limit of 700$ each year for residents to pay for their tuition fees. What is the annual tuition cost fee for residents in Ontario ? - Shall I wait for the University of Ottawa to send me informations regarding registration (and its process) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario ? I feel a bit out of the loop already and feel like I have tons of forms to fill, immunizations to get up to date, etc. I don't want to be last minute and miss deadlines etc.
  7. I applied to both vasc program. From my understanding , Manitoba only invited 1 person during first iteration . It was someone who did a rotation there and that person matched to another program. I applied to Manitoba just in case they decided to interview more people during 2nd round.. so far haven’t heard back.. I applied to McMaster as well but haven’t heard back...yet *fingers crossed* . I believe they mentioned their interviews will be done over Skype on the 25th. Haven’t heard anyone else getting interviews for these programs yet... so we’ll see what happens
  8. Anything interesting out of their 50 posts regarding invites not posted here ?
  9. I'd say it's most likely the 2nd. Unfortunately.
  10. Well can CMGs apply to this EM spot after second round if they don't pick an IMG ?
  11. I'd guess they sent out invites for interviews on the 25th. I could be wrong tho.
  12. Most likely interviews will be on March 25th considering Programs have to send their rank order by March 26th I believe.
  13. Yes they do. Time is of the essence considering the 28th is the deadline for rank order list submission.
