  1. To everyone that accepted their U of T OT offers: Does your ACORN say something like "MSc Occupat'l Therapy - 2 yr (School of Graduate Studies) Awaiting Confirmation" What does awaiting confirmation mean? Is there something else that I need to do on ACORN other than paying the deposit? I accepted on ORPAS.
  2. Are you from Alberta? Have you come up with any pros/cons for each school? My biggest concern is just cost of Toronto
  3. I remember seeing a couple of U of T OT students posted on one of the threads a while ago but can't find the post. I'm trying to decide between U of T and U of A and would love to hear some perspectives on the U of T program (St. Georges Campus). In addition to the program quality, a big concern of mine is the cost of living in Toronto. What was it like to find housing, and were there many scholarships/bursaries available? Bonus if any OOP can comment on placements at U of T outside of Ontario (Western Canada). Thanks in advance!
  4. Hey fellow non-trads! Does anyone have experience applying with two graduate degrees? One would be a thesis based masters (completed) and the other Is a course based masters (just starting). Wondering if this still counts as just one year (Average of both) for the programs that accept grad grades, or if they’ll just take the most recent grad degree.
  5. Hey guys, wondering if any of you would mind commenting on my chances for US MD or DO schools. My stats are below. Year 1: 2.7/4 Year 2: 2.855/4 Year 3: 3.4/4 (first semester was 3.02 and second was 3.78) Year 4: 3.975/4 Grad school GPA: 3.7/4 I also have two first author papers (mid-tier journal and Science) and am a co-author on a number of other papers (mid-tier and Nature Comm). I would have very strong LORs from these research supervisors. How do US schools look at publications? Would this help me out at all? Around 6 years of research experience, lots of work experience working with people with disabilities, and a bit of volunteer and athletics. Haven't written the MCAT yet, wondering if it's even worth it? I've read that US schools usually look at upwards trends in GPA. I realize my first two years were pretty rough (financial and personal issues) but I got things together in the last two years and grad school. Thanks in advance!

  8. Was put on the waitlist for Dal OT this morning. I’m OOP and my GPA was 3.8/4 (not sure what that is on 4.3 scale)
  9. Hey, was your PT GPA used as just one year, or did it count for two seeing as its course based?
  10. Hey! Did you end up going to Edmonton or the Calgary satellite campus? I just got accepted and really want to stay in Calgary. I’m wondering if you know anything about how people like the program in Calgary vs. Edmonton. Thanks
  11. What did your email look like? I just got an email that said see attached PDF but there was no attachment...
