  1. My two cents: you don’t need to do as many CTU electives to at least get interviews for residency. Focus on electives you want to do. If you do a lot of CTU, you may end up tired and may not impress as much. Look at the program descriptions for internal medicine programs across the country: most want an elective in internal medicine and some say that subspecialty and GIM electives are valued equally. This may help for FM too.

  3. Reviving this again. Any insight into internal medicine programs specifically at Calgary, U of A, Saskatchewan and Manitoba? Having to make some hard decisions about which interviews to attend due to overlapping interview dates.
