  1. Just to add to this - I also had a rough start to my undergrad (W in a couple classes, D+ in OChem, etc.) but showed a VERY strong upward trend in managed to have a 4.0 in my last 2 years of undergrad and in my Masters. I was accepted this cycle which was my second try and first interview. If you can make it past the cutoffs for USask, which is reasonable if you're IP, then you'll have a decent chance if you rock your interview! If you're OOP then you will need to take some extra time to bring up that GPA and make sure you ace the MCAT... but like skmed257 said above, if this is your dream then you can definitely go for it!!
  2. Hi! I'm currently in my MPH and just got accepted to med this cycle! Would love to chat
  3. Thank you! They accepted it this afternoon! They told me they'll be offering my seat to the next person on the waitlist tomorrow!
  4. According to the AFMC data over the past 5 years there's been between 3-7 deferrals each year. I don't know if they cap it each year but they approved mine very quickly and easily One of you guys should be getting an email tomorrow!
  5. Status: Accepted!!!!! 1st quartile IP - Regina Time Stamp: June 3, 2020 GPA: No idea! I did my undergrad at 2 schools with an 87 GPA at one and only letter grades at the other with one year where I had both a D and a W on my transcript, and I have a 91 GPA in my Masters. So I would guess somewhere in the 80's MCAT Score: 505 Location: IP I honestly felt like crap after my interview so I'm so excited to be able to make this post!!! This was my 2nd year applying so please never give up. I'll be requesting a deferral of my seat since I'm not quite finished my Masters yet so hopefully this means good news for someone else on the waitlist.
  6. Hey guys!! I just got accepted today and I'm so excited!!!!! I will be submitting a request for a 1 year deferral to finish my Masters degree so hopefully that means good news for the next person in line if they accept that deferral! I was given until Friday (June 5) to accept my offer btw!
  7. In the same boat. Very worried at this point but trying to distract myself.
  8. I don't know about OOP, but my IP first quartile says the same thing!
  9. I know a couple of IP applicants who got in off the wait list in mid-June in the past couple of years but I also don't have a clear picture. Regardless, I'm sure we won't see much, if any, movement until after the deadline to accept for the first round of offers. Such an emotional rollercoaster
  10. Looks like we're both in the 1st quartile, so good luck to both of us
  11. My email says they will be starting with the 1st quartile, so I think that 1st quartile is the top of the ranking
  12. I'm IP waitlist, first quartile... not sure if I should expect to get in or not but I'm very hopeful. I will NOT be rejecting my offer if I get one Congrats to everyone accepted!!!!
  13. U of S banning all non-essential events and meetings as well as recommended the limit of domestic travel makes me worried.
  14. U of S sent those emails confirming attendance before the University cancelled classes. I think it's a real possibility that MMI's will be adjusted or cancelled because of this, especially if they already have been at both McMaster and UofC. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens next week. I'm an IP but I live OOP in Vancouver, where there are quite a few cases, so travel and the airport are something I'd like to avoid if it's an option.
