  1. How would they determine which courses are "bird courses" or not? I don't see how they will assess every single course and determine its "difficulty" or am I being naive?
  2. Absolutely, I just wish my Maritimes connection essay will come through! Do you know how the Maritimes connection essay is factored into overall application score? The personal essay and ECs are worth 30% of the total file score but is the Maritimes connection separate and does not get factored in post-interview?
  3. Really interesting information, thanks for giving me some hope haha
  4. Thank you for the advice! I guess I should definitely spend quite some time on the essays
  5. No one can tell, but the speculation is that they will start rewarding those who did well consistently throughout their undergrad (those who have high cGPA). wGPA will probably go down by a bit as well since they are removing 2 FCE total rather than 1 FCE per eligible year.
  6. Hello there! I am making a list of schools to apply for this upcoming cycle and just curious if Dalhousie is worth applying with a very low MCAT score (504). I do meet all the cutoffs but the overall score is poor as you can tell. I have a strong GPA (4.0 for Dal). Not sure how my ECs are relative to other applicants but I hope they are somewhat average! I have several awards/scholarships (research, academic, community service), a few short-term jobs (1-2 years), several volunteering activities that I am passionate about and other typical cookie-cutter activities. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated!
  7. Hello there! I am making a list of schools to apply for this upcoming cycle and just curious if UBC is worth applying with a very low MCAT score (504). I do meet all the cutoffs but the overall score is poor as you can tell. I believe that UBC does not consider MCAT for interview invites but later on includes the MCAT score post-interview. I have a strong GPA (around 92~94% depending whether they include Winter 2020 marks). I know that UBC is EC-heavy school so I am not too sure how my ECs will be scored. I have several awards/scholarships (research, academic, community service), a few short-term jobs (1-2 years), several volunteering activities that I am passionate about, and typical cookie-cutter activities.
