  1. Time Stamp: 8:20 am EST Result: Accepted GPA: 3.97 Stream: English Year: Graduated and working for several years Interview Thoughts: I had really mixed feelings after this interview. I felt pretty bad about my response to one of the questions, most I felt okay about, and a few I felt fairly good about. But I also definitely looked back and cringed about some of the things I said. I prepared for about 2 months by practicing with others and getting their feedback several times per week. Congrats to everyone else with acceptances! And good luck to those on the WL. I will most likely be declining this offer for Mac or U of T, so I hope someone on here gets my spot.
  2. Result: Accepted (Hamilton) Timestamp: 8:36 am EST cGPA: 3.97 CARS: 131 CASPer: I can't even remember that far back but I think I felt it went okay. I practiced for about 4-6 weeks using practice questions and PrepMatch (not at all involved with this website, I just found it helpful). MMI interview thoughts: Felt just okay about it. I had plenty to say for each prompt and felt like I organized my answers well. But I definitely had a cringe moment in one station and felt like I forgot to include some important points in other stations. I practiced for about 2 months 2-3x per week with others. The real interview prompts were nothing like the questions I practiced, but I think it was still helpful to really get in the habit of structuring answers well, looking at both sides of issues, and always considering the perspectives of others. Year: Graduated and working for several years Geography: IP Guaranteed interview from last year: No Pretty sure I will be accepting this offer! Good luck to everyone on the WL. I've heard Mac's moves quite a lot, so I'm sure many of you will be getting good news in the next few days to weeks!
  3. Result: Accepted to Mississauga campus (first choice) Timestamp: 10:28 am EST wGPA/cGPA: cGPA 3.97 (didn't qualify for wGPA because I didn't take a full course load every year) MCAT: 523 (130/131/130/132) ECs: Registered health professional for 5 years + 1 year internship, wrote a blog related to my field for 8 years, several clubs and volunteering <100 hours each, some summer jobs in retail and restaurants, 1 year of research but study was unpublished, and several academic awards. Essays: Felt really good about the BPEs. I actually really enjoyed the prompts and had a lot of experiences and ideas to talk about. I didn't feel as good about my ABS essays and at least one was definitely on the weaker side Interview: 3 stations felt decent (although I worried I glazed over my personal experiences without really mentioning my skills/learnings from them), and one I thought I bombed by saying the completely wrong thing that made me look unempathetic and by not focusing enough on the main point of the prompt. Year: Graduated and working for several years Geography: IP Congrats to everyone else with acceptances!!! I will most likely be declining this offer to go to Mac, so I hope someone here on the WL gets my spot.
  4. Just got one and honestly was not expecting this with my very mediocre (almost non-existent) research experience! TIME STAMP: 9:40 am EST Result: Invite!! (MD) GPA: 3.97 cGPA (not eligible for wGPA because I took some years with less than a full course load) MCAT: 523 (130/131/130/132) ECs: Registered Dietitian (5 years) and dietetic internship (1 year), several clubs and volunteering <100 hours each, some summer jobs in retail and restaurants, 1 year of research but study was unpublished, and several academic awards. Essays: Felt really good about the BPEs. I actually really enjoyed the prompts and had a lot of experiences and ideas to talk about. I didn't feel as good about my ABS essays and at least one was definitely on the weaker side. Year: Graduated and working Congrats to everyone else!!
  5. Late to post my result because I needed two days to wallow. Result: Regrets Time Stamp: 12:07 pm EST cGPA/wGPA: 3.97 (don't think I was eligible for wGPA because I didn't take a full course load in my last few years) Year: Graduated and working for 5+ years MCAT: 523 (130/131/130/132) ECs: Over 5 years working as a Registered Dietitian, 10 month dietetic internship, 8 years writing a food blog, 250 hours as a dietary aide in hospital and misc summer jobs. A lot of other more short term ECs (25 to 90 hours) like a soup kitchen, university club, and other volunteering. CASPer: Good enough to get interviews at Mac and Ottawa I'm so bummed about the R and trying to figure out what I'm missing. I'm wondering if either Queens doesn't like applicants who don't take a full-time course load all 4 years, or maybe too many of my ECs are too short term? I was hoping 5 years as a registered health professional would make up for the other shorter term ECs but I guess not...
  6. Time Stamp: 4:34 pm EST Invite/reject: Rejection IP/OOP: IP SWOMEN (Y/N): N 2YGPA: 4.0 MCAT (CHEM/CARS/BIO/PSYCH): 523 (130/131/130/132) Essays (X/8): 8/8 essays and repeated two activities. Worked on them for about a month and had another person read them and give me feedback. But I still felt unsure about them and thought they had some weak spots. I also wrote an academic explanation essay because I didn't take a full course load in my upper years and switched programs so I ended up taking some lower level courses in my upper years. It sucks not knowing what part of my application is to blame.
  7. Invite/Rejection: Invite!!! Time Stamp: 2:59 pm EST Location: IP Stream: English cGPA: 3.97 Current year: Graduated June 2013 ECs: Registered Dietitian (5 years), dietetic internship (1600 hours), dietary aide (250 hours), research (unpublished), lots of summer jobs (customer service roles, 250 to 600 hours each), soup kitchen (85 hours), on campus club (60 hours), some other smaller volunteering gigs, and several academic awards. My ECs are pretty mediocre but I think being an RD for 5 years is what pulled me through. Casper and Snapshot: Didn't do snapshot. TBH I thought I did pretty mediocre on Casper (and I didn't answer the 3rd question on at least 1-2 scenarios), but I also got an interview at Mac so I guess it went better than I thought.
  8. Time stamp: 2:05 Program: MD Result: Invite! OMSAS GPA: 3.97 CARS: 131 IP/OOP: IP Casper: Honestly I blacked it all out within 30 minutes after finishing it. I only have a vague recollection of how I felt after writing it, and I think I just felt okay. I think maybe my GPA and CARS could have made up for a mediocre Casper though?
  9. Yeah I'd say stick within their guidelines to be safe. It's not worth it to give them any reason to toss out your application! Except I'm in a bit of a pickle because they also say that if you've done research, you MUST write about research for one of your ABS essays... but my research was more than 6 years ago. Sooo I'm not really sure what to do with these mutually exclusive instructions in my case lol.
