  1. Hi there, I am a third year undergrad trying to get into Dentistry, specifically aiming for the University of Manitoba. If anyone could help and steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. There's a lot of info on here but most of it is for other schools such as UofT. So I guess I have a couple of questions for anyone who knows about UManitoba's acceptance rates, averages etc. 1) There is a lot of talk AGPAs but not a lot about core course averages. If you were accepted or know anyone who has been accepted into the program, do you mind sharing your AGPA as well as your core course GPA? I'm asking because I would like to know if anyone has ever been accepted with a low core course GPA of 3.7 (which happens to be mine lol). 2) I find myself stressed trying to get all A's in my science courses. In my first year I managed to get all A's. In my second year and third year I got a range of B and B+'s. Is there room for error in getting B's and B+'s? or is my dream of being a dentist over because I don't have all A's? 3) UManitoba lists their minimum core course average and DAT score on the application as 3.60 (2019) and 18.50 (2019). This being the minimum, would you have a good chance of being accepted being near the minimum? Some previous applicants who I have seen on this forum have GPAs typically around 3.9-4 range. 4) Are only the top students accepted into the program? Like those who have high GPAs and high DAT scores? Or is there a chance with those who have a mediocre GPA/DAT and possibly a good interview? To anyone that answers, thank you for any advice.
  2. Hi all, I'm looking to purchase soaps to practice for the MDT. The https://www.datsoapcarving.ca/soaps.php site has been sold out for weeks and CDA is super expensive. Anyone have any idea where I can purchase additional soaps to practice with? Also if people have tips on how to practice without soap (i.e. suggest other materials....I was thinking candles?) that would be great too!!
  3. Has anyone gotten their results yet?
  4. I plan on writing the cDAT in November, and wanted to start during as soon as finals are done. I've read around and heard that DAT crusher is the best to do well on the DAT, but just wanted to hear more opinions before I buy DATcrusher. Also for those who have written, in terms of chemistry how did you prepare and do well and even for bio!?
  5. Hi I took the cDAT last February and scored 27AA and 23PT. I major in Physiology and Immunology and I've tutored biology before. I can also give you some tips on applications and etc. I got interviews at UBC, UWO, and Case Western. I charge $40 an hour but it's flexible. I'm usually around UofT.
  6. Hey guys, for the DAT that's scheduled in UofT, is it the St.George campus where we write it? I live pretty far so I was thinking about getting an AirBnB and wondering which campus it's on. Thank you!
  7. This is the second time I took the DAT as I did a practice one early on in my undergrad. I am planning to apply to US schools this summer and Canadian schools this Fall. Please give me your honest opinions! I did well in some sections but not the best in others. Here are my scores: Reading 24 Bio 21 Chem 18 Science Total 19 AA 21 PAT 19 MDT 15 Overall my CGPA is 3.8 it would be higher for schools that drop your worst year. Uoft/UBC: 3.89, Western 3.92, Mcgill 3.8 I also have a ton of EC's, leadership experience, and dental volunteering/shadowing. But i'm worried about my PAT score. specific schools i'm looking at: McGill, Uoft, Western, Dal, UBC, and I'll also apply to UofS, UofA and UofM
  8. Hey everyone! I wrote the Canadian DAT in Nov 2018 and was wondering if I could get any feedback from you all on my scores! I'm looking to apply in 2019 for both Canadian AND U.S schools and am currently debating whether I should try attempting the American DAT this summer, or even do the Canadian DAT once again in November... My scores were: 21AA 23 GC 18 BIO 21 RC 18 PAT My cumulative undergrad GPA (including summer school, but not this semester) is approximately a 3.79. If anyone had any advice or opinions regarding my DAT scores and whether they think these are fine or not, it would be much appreciated! Thanks

  12. Hey Guys, Any thoughts on today’s DAT ? Imo, Bio and Chem were just fine, no surprises, though a few tricky Qs here and there... PAT: Aperture was borderline-hard for me, TFE, there were too many similar answer choices, overall not too bad. The rest of them weren’t that bad. RCT: Wtf was going on with the first and last passage ? I guessed on a bunch and didn’t have time to properly answer Qs on the last passage, guess got wrecked lol
  13. Hey guys, I'll be writing the Canadian DAT at UofT this Saturday for the first time and was wondering what to expect when I sit down. How will I be seated, what will I see on the table in front of me, whats the overall atmosphere like? Kind of hoping for a step-by-step from someone who has written so I can calm my nerves a bit! How many pencils will we be given, erasers, blank sheets for rough work?? Also, are we allowed to write on the question sheets, will we be answering on a scantron, is it just a clock or is it a timer?
  14. Hey all, Selling a DAT Bootcamp Premium account. I bought 10 days ago, it's active until Dec 19. Really useful for studying with lots of practice, especially for the PAT section. I am not writing anymore, willing to negotiate price. PM for more info/proof etc !
  15. Hi, im wondering if anyone knows the exact dimensions of the DAT soap for this November? Is it 83 mm for length and 16 mm for diameter? Thank you very much for your answers! :)
  16. Anyone selling their DAT materials in Vancouver? I'm hoping to buy DAT prep books.
  17. I'm a bachelor of science student in my third year of my degree in Alberta, Canada majoring in biology. These are my stats:GPA: 3.704CDAT: 19 AA19 BIO19 CHEM19 TS20 RC16 PATI've got more than 100 hours of shadowing. I've done a lot of volunteering and for long periods of time, I've also started my own club in my university and am an executive for my universities Golden Key Chapter club and have been for two years now. By the time I finish my GPA should be around a 3.75-3.8 I hope. Obviously my scores are average and my PAT is quite low. What are my chances realistically of getting into dental school in the USA or Australia? Should I even bother applying or just retake the DAT? Thank you.

  19. Hi Everyone, I was planning on writing the Canadian DAT this month (February 24, 2018), but due to extenuating circumstances I won't be able to. I was wondering if I wrote the next DAT (November 3rd, 2018), Would I still be able to apply to dental schools for that cycle (i.e write Nov 2018, apply Dec 2018)? The deadline is generally Dec 1, and it takes 8 weeks to get DAT scores back. Would I be able to apply to schools even if I don't have my DAT scores back? Thanks in Advance
  20. I recently took the Canadian DAT in November and got these scores.Reading comp: 20BIOL: 18Chem: 17Sci Total: 18Academic Average: 18PAT: 14MDT: 6This was my first time taking the DAT, and I went into it with zero preparation, based off these scores alone do you think there is any chance I could make it into a Canadian Dental school or should I retake the DAT in February and actually prepare properly this time.My GPA right now is at 3.7, but by the time i finish it'll probably be around 3.8-3.9ish
  21. Hi, I am selling access to my DAT Bootcamp premium access which expires at the end of December. This is a great resource for because of the abundance of past DAT exam questions you can access through their practice tests. It is amazing for PAT because they have generators and thorough video explanations on strategies for PAT. I am also selling my Canadian Dental Association DAT Preparation Manual. This is the only exam that was released by the official Canadian DAT administrator and is a great way to gauge your preparedness. Ideally, we can meet in person in Vancouver to ensure a smooth transaction. $50 each - negotiable. Please message me for more details.
  22. Hi Guys I am planning to take the cDAT in February and I will be officially starting my review after my finals. I am trying to spend as little amount on the prep materials so I wanted to know what the recommendation for the PAT section and just overall review for the exam would be? I have searched this forum extensively and there isn't any clear response for what people would recommend for the cDAT. I am more interested in how datcrusher holds up in comparison to other companies. I have a solid bio background because of my major, and I will be reviewing chem. Currently I have Feralis and AP Cliff's, IQ publications reading and Bio/chem book, kaplan review notes (1000 page book), and the CDA 2014 manual. I am planning to get Chad's videos ($50) for chem and just need something for the PAT section and some extra practice exams and questions. I saw that the datcrusher is pretty cheap overall, includes everything I would need, and is geared towards the cDAT. Then there's datbootcam and crackthedat who offer more practice questions, a lot of extra stuff that I wouldn't need, higher prices and are not geared towards the cDAT. So it would be really helpful to see what you guys would recommend to get for online practice. Also, since I have the 2014 CDA manual, i wanted to know if I should get a 2017 manual or if they have the same content for the practice exam that's included?
  23. Hey guys, I'm a first year student looking to prepare for and write the DAT in the next year. There seems to be countless pricey resources available which makes it hard to narrow down what to use. Can anyone who has written the DAT (and did well) give me a brief overview of the best resources to be had for the Canadian DAT. Additionally, do you think it might be too early for me to write the DAT while only being in first year? Thank you.
