Dear Premed101, As another round of the LMCCII exam passes, I propose we independently and systematically collect data to evaluate the importance, satisfaction and impact of this exam. If you have taken this exam, you are an important stakeholder and I invite you to answer the following survey. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes. I have collected questions from the literature and crafted some of my own (unfortunately unvalidated) that have been used to evaluate other OSCE exams. All answers will remain anonymous, confidential and reported in aggregate form. Answers may be left blank, and you may withdraw consent at any time via private message of your Survey ID. There is no compensation for taking this survey. This survey was not approved by any ethics board, and is not associated with any institution. I declare no conflicts of interest. If you have any further questions (or questions that you would like to see included!), feel free to comment or send me a private message. Thank you and I hope we can get some interesting data! Please click here to take the survey: http://lmcc2survey.ga/ Sincerely, /u/PublicWifiHotspot PS ublock and other adblockers may block Qualtrics, the data platform used for this survey. There are no advertisements included. TLDR; voice your opinion at http://lmcc2survey.ga/ FAQ: 1. What do you intend to do with this data? Publish it in aggregate form for all to see and to get the dialogue going. 2. What is your goal number of responses? The maximum we can get, the stronger a case we can make! I think two hundred fifty would make a compelling case, but let's top that! Update 1: We are at 50 responses! Thanks everyone who has contributed so far! Update 2: 99 responses! Keep the data coming! Update 3: 160! Thank you everyone and feel free to keep sharing! Update 4 (Nov 2): 200!!
Just wondering what everyone is currently using to study for the CFPC exam. I am using the "red book" (Guide to the Canadian Family Medicine Examination) to prepare, just basically trying to memorize everything I can get into my head. I'm also using the McMaster (FMPE) modules and reading through the information section of those (there are about 70 modules, and if you just read the information sections, it's about 3-4 pages each). I have the Swanson's Family Medicine Review book, but it's American, and I honestly find it to be quite verbose, maybe excessively so. I've only used it for a few topics, and the information it contains may be a bit too advanced. So, what are you guys using?
mrpuffy posted a topic in Primary Care ResidenciesI was planning on challenging both the LMCC2/ CFPC exams in the fall and just recently noted that the confirmed date for the LMCC2 in this fall is October 27-30 which overlaps with the CFPC exam on October 29-30, 2016. I was given to understand that these exams are typically on separate weekends. I have contacted them to confirm this but haven't heard back from them yet. For off-cycle residents like myself who are finishing in January 2017, do they make exceptions. I realize now that I've missed the deadline to register for the LMCC2 in Spring 2016 and if I finish residency in January 2017, I'd have to wait till March/April 2016 to do the CFPC exam (assuming I pick only the LMCC2 in Fall). Does anyone have experience with this? Why would the exams be staggered in Spring 2016 and on the exact same weekend in the Fall? Which one should I prioritize? Can I moonlight with one and not the other in that Jan - April period in 2017 while waiting to write the other one? Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed light on this!
