Hi, I'm still in high school and I'm looking at which "premed" program to apply to next year that focuses on preparing students for medicine. I know that any program is good as long as you can get a good GPA and high MCAT scores, but are they any specific programs (in Canada) that gear specifically towards premed? Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone, So this is my first post on premed101 & I needed some opinions. Among a lot of people I'm also a premed looking into attending medical school. I'm in my second year now doing biology at Guelph University. My first year was pretty brutal due to personal reasons such as loosing a relative and among other things so I really didn't do well. I got a GPA of 1.70 with 2 failed courses in first semester which I repeated and passed in second semester. In second year now I'm doing much better and feel like I'm getting a good grasp of things, I'm realistically going to end second semester with a 3.00 GPA. Now taking all of this in hand, I wanted some opinions on my future chances into attending a medical school. I'm willing to do a fifth year, and I'll be giving it all I have to get to a competitive GPA. I already have some EC's under my belt; I feel like maybe my first year grades won't be the end of the world, but I really want to be realistic with myself and I'm seeking some opinions. Thank-you in advance!
