I'm finishing my BComm in marketing this academic year and am planning on taking all mcat/med school prereqs the following year. I am considering completing these courses at cegep level— reason being that my current university tends to split up the lab and theory component of a class to be taken in separate semesters plus the level of difficulty is likely greater at university level. I know a few med students who obtained bachelors in degrees outside of science, went back to cegep to complete their prereqs and ended up attending Montreal-based medical schools (i know McGill, University of Montreal and a few other Quebec med schools will accept cegep courses from an undergrad applicant) but I'm not sure if other Canadian medical schools and US medical schools would as well...I know I could call up each one individually and ask but...If anyone has a general idea of the answer to this question, that would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
Hey folks, Any ideas on if any Canadian schools reject or frown upon taking an online course during undergrad? It happens to be a biochemistry course, which I know is a prereq for Ottawa. WIll this make any difference? Also, do these things matter for US schools, at least ones that accept Canadians?
Hi, I am a prospective applicant to McGill for 2018-2019. I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding course equivalency between McGill and University of Montreal and between McGill and Athabasca University, through past experience or if they managed to contact the Admissions committee (I’ve been unsuccessful). Here are the courses from Université de Montréal that I would like to verify: -BIO1153 (Biologie cellulaire) = BIOL201(Cell Biology and Metabolism)? -Does CHM1984 (Chimie organique) fulfill the “introductory Organic Chemistry” course in Options 2 prerequisite courses? -BIO1634 (Principes de physiologie animale) = PHGY209 (Mammalian Physiology)? And from Athabasca University: -PHYS202 (Introductory Physics III) = CEGEP Electricity and Magnetism course (203-NYB-05)? -CHEM350 (Organic Chemistry 1) = CEGEP Organic Chemistry 1 (202-LCU-05)? Thanks for any and all info!
