    MCAT study help me please

Hiii, I need some advice about writing the MCAT and what worked for people and what did not. First off, does anyone know where to find a test bank of questions for each subject (biology, biochem, etc) or even for each section?? Second, how did you study using books? I bought the princeton book set and I have heard some people recommend skimming through, then read through again taking notes, then attempt questions, etc. But I am not sure how to go about it with the books. Please give me any advice you have and any resources you found helpful!! I appreciate your help in advance.

Avoid electronic items: A definite volt of current is needed to operate electronic items in Canada. So, you are advised to avoid electronic items in your luggage. 2. Clothing: Be aware while selecting clothes to carry. You would require warm clothes after reaching Canada. 3. Don't forget to make a list of important documents in order to avoid problems. The list may contain- · Important documents like passport, travel and medical insurance, certificates, transcripts, medical documents. · Winter Wear that will keep you warm. · Laptop charger. · Mobile, mobile charger. · Some books. game discs etc. · Basic utensils. · Some local currency.

    MCAT & Working Full Time

Hi everyone! Last summer, I wrote the MCAT and scored 500, so I need to rewrite it for the schools I want to apply to. The thing is, last summer I was working full-time in a lab and really struggled to balance working and studying for the MCAT (cause I had signed up for one of those prep courses). This year, I was offered the same position in the lab and it would be full time. I really want to work for the experience and it strengthens my CV; however, I'm not really sure how to balance the working and studying? Any advice? This summer is my last chance to write the MCAT if I want to be able to apply during my 4th yr undergrad. Is it too risky to work and study knowing how bad I did on the first one. Is it worth giving up the research position to just study for the MCAT all 4 months? Any advice? Thanks!
  5. Hi everyone, I just started studying from Kaplan books and reached a minor dilemma. I covered the first chapter for Biochem today, and wasn't able to find a series of corresponding practice questions that would allow me to consolidate all the info I've read. I have practice passages from Next Step practice books, but they are do not have a focus on particular MCAT topics. Does anyone have any suggestions for practice materials that focus on particular topics? I strongly feel this would help me consolidate the concepts I've read. I know Khan academy has some questions, but I think there are only a few per topic! ...Also, as a side note, I am preparing for the Jan 25th MCAT and I am located in Montreal. If anyone is in the same area and would like to study together, PM me! Thanks, D

    PreMed or no Premed

Hi there, I am a grade 11 honours/AP student who has a passion for sciences and medicine. Recently I've been browsing these forms and I've seen that this site is generally a good place to gain advice from former students about University and post graduate endeavours, so I thought, 'hey, why not give it a try'. I am here to ask if anyone knows of any successful and fulfilling (financial and personally fulfilling) fields to go into after an undergraduate program such as Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences and/or Biochemistry. I am also open to taking/planning on attending graduate school after undergrad if needed. I, of course, know that I can go to medical school and become a doctor (which in and of itself features a wide variety of specialities). However, I want to keep my options open. I really enjoy biology, chemistry and mathematics. I also love researching and working hands on in labs to find solutions to problems (so I looked into working in a hospital laboratory but the income wasn't too appealing). I just feel like the only medical career that will allow someone to be fulfilled (and financially successful), is a doctor [re-reading that statement I realize that it makes me seem very closed minded, which is why I need help]. Hopefully someone on here can shed some light on careers that are often over looked when choosing a career in Science and Medicine. Thank you for your help.
  7. This set of Examkrackers MCAT, 10th Edition books is in very good condition (9/10) - these are the newest version of the Examkrackers set! The books are in great condition because I only read the books for several hours - and then I decided that MCAT science was too challenging for me... There were some light pencil marks on a few pages in total (at most 20 pages), which have since been for the most part erased. There are absolutely no markings on the pages with quizzes or exams, and there are no pen or highlighter markings anywhere in the books. The pages and the corners of the pages are in 9.5//10 condition. See photo below regarding the condition of the books. I am looking for $200 for the full set. Includes all 6 books in the set, plus the box: Reasoning Skills Biology 1 Biology 2 Psychology & Sociology Chemistry Physics I am available in Richmond Hill and downtown Toronto on the Yonge subway line. Thanks a lot! If you have any questions about the books, let me know!
  8. Hi, I'm currently studying for my MCAT end of April. Is there anyone here who'd be down to form a study group in London?
  9. I wrote my DAT for the first time in Nov 2016 and was not happy following the results. I would really appreciate any updated advice or anything from those successful, especially following Nov 2016. I studied for this exam for 1.5 months so I knew for sure my preparation lacked good practice in RC and PAT. I am re-writing in Feb and really need some help going forward as I am feeling lost. My scores were: 21 Chem, 21 Bio, 17 RC, 18 PAT I did not give PAT much time so I think I have to do much more practice to get it up, but I was expecting much worse. My main huge concern has always been Reading portion. I feel very worried that it's more of an intrinsic problem with me but also because I rushed studying, I lacked practice in RC and did not know of my "strategy" going in, so I was defeated easily. I've seen many on this forum say a few things have changed on this DAT from previous ones. I based my preparation of RC from friends who took it in the past and did very well. Their strategy and advice could not work here. Most of them downplayed it, told me questions are typically in order, and search/destroy will help. I did DAT Genius and DAT boot camp tests but very rushed as I was focused on studying for bio/chem. I struggled for timing there as well and did not get to review any of them because my main problem was timing. I was not consistent with practicing. Many told me the Canadian one is a bit easier, but it didn't feel that way this test. I feel a big problem with me was not having a right approach but also could be I am a slow reader. This is why I would like to hear anything that helped you prepare and do well on this portion! Any advice on how you would go about re-studying for the Feb exam with the scores that I have? I am very desperate to go about RC the right way and putting my scores up. Thank you for your help and Good luck with apps.
  10. Hello, I'm looking for someone to study for the MCAT with in Montreal. In my experience, studying with a like-minded person helps both parties stay motivated and on track. I have just began studying, my test date is August 20th. Thanks!
