What are MMI-style residency interviews like?

Recommended Posts

Are they like med school interviews?

Are the evaluators usually people who are part of the department?

Do they typically ask personal questions?

Is there a time limit per station?

What are the main differences between MMI and panel interviews?

Please shed some light on this :) There isn't a lot of information on the internet about this.

They can be, although the one I did had some clinical questions, kind of like an osce station.

Yes they all are staff/admin/residents.

Most stations ask personal questions, ie why do you want to be a neuropathologist? why this universtity/program? talk about your expeiriences, research, etc.

Yes.... do you know what an MMI is?

Panel interviews you just spend x time with one or more people in the same room, maybe do that twice, MMI-style you meet wtih 6+ different people briefly with specific questions for each.

I mean... its really similar to a med school MMI, the difference is just the kinds of questions you get asked, the format is the same.
