Out of Province Applicants- OT Ontario Schools

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am a student from Alberta and was hoping to apply to the Ontario Schools for potential admission into an OT program. However, I have heard it is more difficult to get in when you are out of province. I am considering: Queens, Western, UofT and McMaster. Anyone have any experience with this? Average GPA of successful admission for those out of province?

There's no restrictions for out of province applicants for OT programs in Onatrio. I am out of province and I got accepted into Mac's OT. Depending on your transcript, the ORPAS gpa conversion can give you an advantage or disadvantage. For Mac I know this year the GPA cut off for interview invites was initially 3.77 and later dropped around 3.74. The rest of Ontario OT schools tend to have 3.7+ GPA cut-off. I think one you meet the GPA cut-off the rest of your application is looked at (except Mac). Mac's admission offers are based on 75% interview scores and 25% GPA.
