# Marking of GPA during application

## Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Does anyone happen to know how the GPA translates to a score out of 15?  For example, 4.0 would be 15/15. How many points do you get for something below a 4.0? Thanks in advance!

I believe a 3.9 is 14/15 but beyond that I'm not sure

The raw scores are linear. So 4.0 = 15, 3.9 = 14, 3.8 = 13 etc. Minimum for IP is 8/15 and minimum for OOP is 12/15.

Remember though that the actual scores are z-scored which is based on the applicant average for each stream. So in reality it’s more complicated than that.

Last year I had a 518 and I believe I got a 10/10 in that section, but beyond that I'm not sure. Take a look at some of the previous threads and you'll get an idea.

To follow up on this - in previous years, scoring has been roughly as follows:

503-506 = 6/10

507-510=7/10

511-516=8/10

517-522=9/10

523+=10/10
