I would take advantage of it. You don't get to travel much and meet new people see new things much in medicine. Most of us will be tied down to the country we trained in. This is one of the few chances you get to go abroad and see things. Truthfully, it probably won't be as fruitful because you can continue research that you do at your own medical school throughout the year, but it is still something that stands out on your application.

I also got a placement and I'm very excited! does anyone know what is expected on pre clerks on the clinical exchanges? did anyone else go and have any thoughts? Thanks and congrats!

I think SCOPE/SCORE will be a fun experience: getting to meet medical students from around the world, exploring a new city, etc.  In terms of clinical learning or research productivity, I don't think IFMSA is the best option. If you're gunning for a specialty, the SCOPE/SCORE experience won't be of much value
