Data Sources for R&D

I'm looking for information sources, and before anyone says "google it" save yourself the keystrokes and me the headache. Search engines are no substitute for the opinions of trained professionals. I am looking for literature on things like Respiratory Illness, Paralysis, Degenerative Diseases, etc. It is my hope to contribute to medical science by developing non invasive treatments. Additionally, I live in SK and the work I do will have its roots here. Share your insight with me at your leisure.
