The current tuition fee framework, which has capped increases for most programs at three per cent, expires at the end of this academic year, and the Progressive Conservative government will formally announce a new one on Thursday. I have a feeling this is going to the set the stage for OSAP slashing. In the meantime, this should be a welcomed move amongst students.

bins
This isn't a good thing at all. And even worse for the students who need it. Don't be fooled by this 10%. Uni's are probably going to make cuts in places that need it to because they're covering the loss. Professor strikes incoming... Students should be outraged and ready to protest these changes. As someone who makes use of OSAP and the 70% decrease in tuition it provides (as well as grants), this is a horrible change. My debt I have to pay off is significantly lower because of OSAP funding, much lower than 10% off of my tuition would save me. With this, there's no more free tuition and it is much harder to get grants as a low-income family. https://www.thestar.com/opinion/editorials/2019/01/17/ford-government-cuts-student-aid-under-cover-of-tuition-cuts.html
