MD Time Stamp: 12:54PMLocation: IPStream: EnglishwGPA: 3.98Current year: MSc (in final year) ECs: TA'd 4 courses in UG, Lifeguard/Swimming instructor, 1 Pub, 4 poster/abstract presentation at International conferences, President of 1 club in UG, 6 years hospital volunteer CASper: lol get ready for this, I literally practice everyday for 2 months straight and paid a bit of money for one of those prep programs. I still didn't think it went too well tho cause I didn't get Mac (probably cause 126 in CARS). I guess my CASper was okay but it still felt super rushed and I wish I said more for most Qs

PM for details - I don't think my ECs are amazing but were good enough for UBC OOP Casper: felt okay despite prepping quite a bit, didn't get a Mac interview with 128 CARS so definitely wasn't great! Hospital and community volunteering, president of 2 school clubs, hobbies, personal experiences, multiple awards (grades, leadership, community service, volunteering, CV), national organization representative for 3rd world helping organization... PM for detail. Casper: Started off as being absolutely clueless. My first answers were pathetic. Practiced every single day for 3 hours, for 6 weeks. Got my typing speed from 55 wpm to 80 wpm. Real casper: definitely did not finish many many questions but felt okay coming out of it because of the amount of practice. If I did it, anyone here can do it! To both those who got invites and those who didn't, nothing is impossible We got this.

I mean how was your CV different than first two cycles... Honestly, I think pursuing a masters degree was a big help. I’m currently in my final year. Besides that, maybe CASPER was better this year? My CV was very similar honestly. Used 2 of the 3 references I have always used, but switched one up. If you ask me, I think this system (not just Ottawa, all med schools really) is incredibly flawed. So many good people are missed every year and my heart breaks because I know how that feels.

If the latter, anyone know MTL wGPA cutoff for this year (English stream)?
