I am from BC and do not know much about Ontario schools! wGPA: 3.97 Volunteer: -tutor for resource center (4 years with multiple students) -Rugby coach (both for 5 years) & Personal trainer for the team (1.5 years) -2 volunteer trips abroad (public health related) -junior president of the group I did the trip with, helped plan and lead the trip and coordinate fundraisers (2 years) -volunteer in a physio clinic, I help lead the patients through the rehab regime and assist as need be (1 year) -Crisis clinic volunteer (1 year) -Volunteer research assistant (1 year) ECs: -President of the chemistry society at my Uni (1 yr) -body building, no comps (4 years) -Recreational rugby player (7 years) -Shadowing a family doc (2 years) -President and founding member for a mental health news journal at my campus, lead a group of about 20 students (3 years) -bass player, have played for multiple fundraisers but no competitions (8.5 years) -Rock climbing (3 yrs) Jobs: -Customer service supervisor (1.5 years) -Lab assistant (1 summer) -research assistant (2 summers, different labs) -teaching assistant (5 semesters) Awards: -NSERC USRA (x2) -5 academic scholarships/community involvement scholarships -1 posted presentation(paper submitted, not accepted/published yet) -deans list every year -Peer voted community leadership award -Nominated and selected for an award at my campus for leadership Thanks in advance, and best of luck to every who's interviewing this year!!! However, I know smart people who didn't even get an interview. Stellar ECs. I got an interview and I think my ECs are the weakest part of my app. So yeah, worth a shot.
