anon500
For residents in Alberta that have failed the LMCC part 1, did your programs place any restrictions on your scope of practice going into residency until you were able to rewrite the exam? For example, there is a rumor that until you have passed, you require a co-signature from fellow residents and staff. Has anyone seen this being enforced? Is it only for Ontario residencies? Would appreciate any insight!

F508
Can't speak about Alberta in particular, but in my province, failing LMCC does not prevent you from prescribing as a resident. As long as you have your MD, you're ok. For all schools in Canada now, the LMCC is not a requirement to obtain your MD diploma. You will need to pass LMCC I and II to be an independent doctor though
