strawberrySS
So I've been wanting to get involved in research for a while, I got an interview at a pretty big lab a few months ago and completely bombed it but I have another interview coming up to volunteer in one of my former prof's labs this summer. Any tips or advice? How should I prep for it? and what's an acceptable response to "why choose this lab?". I don't mean to be neurotic but I've just been hating myself for screwing up my last interview and would really appreciate any advice. Thank you!!! adhominem
Read a few of their recent publications. Try to understand the overarching goals of the work in the lab. Demonstrate you've put the time in to try to understand what they do, and have an answer prepared for why you would like to get involved. Elijah989
Understand the lab's priorities, show your interests and commitment to the lab, prepare types of questions they would ask and really understand the background of the lab and connections itself.
