Is it worth it?

Recommended Posts

First off, 23 is really not old at all especially in the med school game. Second, yes your GPA isnt as strong as it could be but a good MCAT, CASPer, and ECs might make up for this (emphasis on the might since GPA is king). The not taking 5 full year courses just means that you are ineligible for wGPA (so no courses are going to be dropped from the calculation) but it's not a deal breaker. Are you from southwestern ontario by chance? That would help you in some regions (lighter requirements). Basically it just sounds like you'd have to go all in for McMaster. Med applications are all about playing the long game though, if this is truly something you want to pursue keep improving your application and eventually you'll get in.
