biochem4
Does UofT have a holistic process? If so, would GPA still matter (3.6)?
striders02
GPA does still matter. Recently they released a video on Facebook overviewing the most recent application cycle, and stated the minimum GPA an applicant needed to be passed to full file review (barring extenuating circumstances). For undergrad applicants I believe it was 3.8-something? Can't recall for sure, but the info definitely is in the video
biochem4
If the applicant had extenuating circumstances then GPA cut-off won’t matter anymore due to the weighed GPA? Just want to be clear!
Meridian
GPA always matters. You need the GPA to go to full file review. If you are eligible for weighted wGPA, they use that instead of cGPA. You can use an academic explanation essay to explain a gap or an irregularity. Adcom may then decide to use a variation of wGPA where you normally would not be eligible. They wont just forgo the GPA minimums due to extenuating circumstances.
