Bambi
Especially in Canada, NO. The best professional school is the one that accepts you. Pakoon and Butterfly_
Aetherus
There is no correlation between the ranking of a university and the quality of their professional program. The ranking look at things that are mostly irrelevant to your learning such as how much money does the university attract in grants, how many publications in quality journals etc. Pick the program that you like/are accepted to. Edict
Trust me, coming from someone who would look for reasons for it to matter, it actually doesn't. Within Canada, literally no one cares. It does not affect your career in any way. This is unlike many other fields like law, business, engineering, where there are schools that get recruited from more often than others. It can matter outside Canada (i.e. US) in highly competitive/academic driven specialties, but at most it is minor and a lot less than you'd think, near the bottom of the things they would look at. Generally speaking, in their eyes, all of Canada is mid-tier.

If so, why? oh this nonsense again ha - the rankings of these schools is actually almost funny at the med school level. The process they use to rank is kind of bizarre. It starts to matter at the residency and more at the fellowship level. To put it in perspective for truly competitive things your med school is completed 6-7 years prior to you becoming a junior staff. Ages ago.
