How good does a Queen's interview have to be to get accepted?

How good does a Queen's MMI or panel interview have to be to get accepted?

Very neurotic question, I know... Would love to hear interview experiences of past Queen's applicants as well as interview experiences from applicants in this year's cycle!

Pretty sure most people that get in think they performed subpar at their interview. Hard to tell exactly how well you did

Based on the accepted/rejected/waitlist threads it's usually a mixture of good/decent/bad... Horrible and AMAZING are generally very rare impressions given by people who get in..

I’m hoping it’s a lot of “bads” because I felt like Queen’s was by far my worst interview.

Did anyone else find the interview really challenging?

mine was definitely not an amazing time, but i just tried to be honest and look confident throughout. i think there are some questions in interviews where you're not expected to brag, just leveling with them is probably fine

Yeah it's so hard to evaluate. Especially for the online interviews since you have no one else in the room to gauge your response/give any kind of cues that you've just rambled aimlessly for 5 minutes.  I have no idea how they're going to compare the two weekends since the experiences are so different. I really hope they do an even split.

What do you think is more important the MMI or the panel. I felt the MMI went smoothed but my panel was so cold compared to the MMI people and I felt like I rambled a lot.

Judging by what happened for those of us that interviewed online, I would say the MMI matters much much more. There were some that unfortunately didn't get a panel after having an MMI, but they said in the email you wouldn't be disadvantaged by this process, so the MMI alone was enough to rank everyone. I believe the panel is just the final check to make sure you pass whatever last evaluation they have, but it has no effect on your rank if you don't fail it.

Back in 2013, Queen's accidentally released decisions early by showing waitlist messages and also showing deposits owed! Imagine if this happened again...
