Hello, I was wondering how will the current changes affect the upcoming cycle’s GPA average especially UofT’s? Will they start looking the apps more holistically?

UofT reported the average raw GPA for the c/o 2024 matriculants was 3.89. I'm guessing the average GPA for the upcoming cycle will be a bit higher than that, but not as high as in the past. This also means the GPA they consider "competitive" might decrease a bit. Maybe 3.75? It's all conjecture.

As for whether they will look at apps more holistically moving forward...things might change drastically in the cycle after this one with the implementation of phase 3 changes,  but we have no reason to believe UofT will change how they screen apps this cycle. They'll probably continue business as usual which means only holistically reviewing applicants that pass the GPA cutoff.

No one can tell, but the speculation is that they will start rewarding those who did well consistently throughout their undergrad (those who have high cGPA). wGPA will probably go down by a bit as well since they are removing 2 FCE total rather than 1 FCE per eligible year.

how does UofT determine the GPA cut off for applicants with AEE? In their previous videos (2018-2019 cycle), they accepted applicants that had below 3.6 GPA
