PTOT123
I just recently gained an interest in becoming a PT or OT, and I'm heading into my 6th year of my BSc. Will schools look poorly upon this? I realized that I need to take a few pre-reqs still and also need to boost my sub-GPA. I also have to start more volunteering! I might even have to take a 7th year??
LastchanceUpt
Hey! I’m in the same boat, I finished my undergrad in my 6th year and I’m applying in my 7th year this year. I don’t have an answer for you but just know you’re not alone. Good luck to you!
pthope
Hey guys. Not sure about the first part of your question either. However, if it's any consolation I can tell you I applied in my 6th and 7th years and finally got in on my second try. Good luck to you both! jhall_88xc
I also got in after doing 5 years for my undergrad, and only 4 courses rather than 5 for three of my four semesters in 4th and 5th year. One thing to take note of is that some schools (Western I know for sure) require you to have completed all your pre-req required courses within the last 7 years, so if you're taking longer to do your undergrad or applying after an extended time off, you'll want to make sure your courses are recent enough! Double check on each school's admissions website and reach out to admin support if you're feeling uncertain. Best of luck
