oncmylife
Sorry for the double post. Realized this question is more suitable for this thread. Hello, I'm a Canadian citizen IMG currently in PGY-2 in an ACGME accredited IM residency in US. I would like to apply for medical oncology, MSM CARMS. Based on review of the CARMS website, I meet eligibility requirements for programs in Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland/Labrador, Manitoba, and NS/NB/PEI. The latter three do not seem to have requirements to serve ROS for MSM CARMS while Ontario programs require a 5 year ROS agreement to be signed just like PGY-1 CARMS. My understanding is that for IM subspecialists, jobs would be scarce in the community setting where ROS would need to be served. What happens if a subspecialist is unable to find a job in the areas outlined in the ROS agreement or is this based on misinformation on my part? Thank you in advance
bearded frog
They could make you practice as an IM generalist? This is a niche question and you might have to contact them directly to find out. oncmylife
