Med2020Ap
On the most recent “Let’s Chat”, the admissions officer said to email the med admissions department if we reused any part of our essays from previous years, because otherwise Turnitin may flag us for plagiarism. Does anyone know if that actually happens?
naptime98
I mean if a video put out by the admissions office says something happens I would imagine its true. I doubt they would be asking to work through extra emails if it didn't have a purpose.
rmorelan
Turnitin does do that - usually you then have to just verify it is or isn't the same author. Still they are telling you want to do if you reuse any part or isn't that they are disallowing anything etc. I should say that Turnitin obviously has a different original purpose - checking school work - and technically for most university programs you cannot reuse even your own work in two courses. So it make sense it would flag things etc. even within a persons work. Edited October 15, 2020 by rmorelan
