It's a bit anti-climactic, but I was accepted at UT.

B.Sc., Ph.D. (in progress)

The usual mix of publications, awards, and conference presentations a grad student's life generally revolves around.

Lots of EC, sports, and other fun stuff.

GPA: ~3.8

MCAT: 32M

Now, if only this means all my experiments will now magically work.

For the information of future applicants:

I'm originally from Victoria, BC and just finished 4th year of my BSc in Biology at UVic. This is my first time applying to medical schools.

I applied at: UBC, UofC, UofT, and Queen's

I interviewed at UBC, UofC, UofT, and Queen's

I was accepted at: UBC and U of T

Waitlisted by: UofC and Queen's (EDIT: Accepted off U of C waitlist)

I will be accepting U of T's offer.

My Undergrad GPA (based on my first 3 years) was: 3.86 (OMSAS), not sure of my weighted GPA but it would have dropped 2 B+'s and MCAT (VR/PS/W/BS): 13/12/S/14

I don't really have any research experience other than a research-based course this past semester. Never done any hospital or health-based volunteering.

Long and wide-ranging volunteer and extracurricular history with some pretty random things (i.e. dog showing!), lots of stuff through Scouts Canada, and international travel and volunteer work. Just goes to show that there's not necessarily a "cookie-cutter" ideal applicant, I guess!

See everyone in a few months!

After more than a week of debating, consulting, debating, reconsulting, pagan rituals, and sleeping-on-its, I've decided on Toronto. Word.

Assuming no administrative tragedies, postal mishaps, or irrational changes of mind occur, I'll see 1T2's in a few months.
