Just wanted to let my waitlist friends know that I will be removing myself from the waitlist due to acceptance at an IP school. I wish you all the best of luck, you can do this!! It took me 3 cycles until I got accepted at a school.

Does anyone know what the odds are of getting off the 2nd tier and when movement on the waitlist occurs?

Do they tell what the reason was of people getting rejected? Like what was lacking?

Yeah if they hold the usual application review meetings this year. They'll tell you your MMI and CASPer quintiles, plus the average GPA and MCAT for this years application cycle and go over any red flags if there were any

First tier almost always gets in. 12 to 18 spots usually move in province.

Does anyone feel that waitlist movement this year will be hindered in light of the covid pandemic? Or will there still be enough movement for waitlist people to be extended offers?

Doubt it, med schools will still be running at full capacity around the country eventually, just with online lectures and exams. You will get in, I'm 99.9999% sure!

Usually 50/50 for 2nd tier from what has happened in the past! Sometimes runs deep in to the 2nd tier, sometimes it is less.
