Accepted at 9:05 am 15/05/13

IP, Second time applying (Rejected last year)

No Rural. A couple first author pubs.

MCAT: 28 Q (BS:10, PS:9, VR:9) Composite: 9.7

GPA: 4.3. AGPA is probably higher by some arbitrary amount.

Interview: Wanted to crawl in a hole after. Knew it went better than the last time, but still felt terrible about a couple stations.

Beyond excited to meet the rest of the class!

:) :) :)

OOP - Accepted.

3.71; 39S

Interview: Went well. No bad stations that I recall.

I'll be declining this offer in favor of one from Ontario, so I wish all the waitlisters, here and elsewhere, good luck. Live long and prosper.

PS: Dr. Martin reminds me of William Shatner. He seems like a cool guy.

Guess I'll be the first to start this off.

Rejected again (3rd interview, 3rd outright rejection)

IP, non-rural

MCAT - 10.9

AGPA - 4.1

Unfortunately I just can't get past the interview. I feel like it went better this year, but unfortunately it still wasn't enough. I'm not giving up though. Being a doctor is what I really want to do, so I will go for my feedback meeting with the faculty and try again next year. To any other unsuccessful applicants, keeps your heads up!! I know how much rejection stings, but I feel it will be worth it once we eventually get that elusive acceptance letter!

Congrats to everyone accepted this year! I know you will all make excellent physicians, and I hope to join you in the faculty next year!

Accepted! Email @ 9:39am

IP, First time applying

No rural. Some publications (but no first authors)

MCAT: 29Q (PS 10, VR 9, BS 10) = 9.9

AGPA: ~4.0

MMI: I honestly didn't think it went that well (had nothing to compare it to). However I did have a lot of volunteer and research experience that I was able to convey in the interview.

Good luck to everyone wait listed!

Accepted!

IP

MCAT:

10PS, 11 VR, Q, 11BS

This was my second time applying. I have very minimal rural bonuses for volunteering this application. I felt the MMI went about par or slightly better than last year. I was placed in the 2nd tier of the wait list last application

I received some interview prep with Robert Astroff (Astroff Consultants), I believe that it was beneficial. I would highly recommend doing the mock interview that med I students put on as well!

Excited to meet everyone :)

Accepted at 9:39 this morning!

IP, Rural

MCAT: 10.0

AGPA: 4.2 something I believe

MMI: Lots of practice with a friend, worked to address feedback from previous years (waitlisted 3rd tier first application, waitlisted 2nd tier second application)

Will most likely be declining for Mac! Best of luck to those waitlisted, I feel for you!

2nd time applying

IP, urban, little rural volunteering, no publications

Mcat - 9.5 - very low, feel lucky to even be wait listed

Mmi - every station felt great except for 2. Did lots of practicing, so I guess it helped.

Agpa - 3.96

Does anyone know how the wait list works?

Waitlist 3rd tier, first time applying

IP, non-rural

AGPA: >4.25

MCAT: 9.8

Not sure how the interview was... since this is my first time applying I have never received real feedback on it (although helpful, I didn't really consider feedback from fellow applicants/Med I students to necessarily be *legit*). I guess I thought it went decently well... felt more confident at some stations than others!

Congrats to all who got in - your hard work has paid off!

Rejected

IP, Rural, One publication

AGPA: ~3.9

MCAT: 10.2

MMI: Practiced quite a bit, but after I felt as though it could have gone better. In the end it was tough to say, because I felt I had some good stations and some poor ones (much like everyone else). Must have been my downfall in the end.

Congrats to those accepted!

Unfortunately didnt get in

Fourth time applicant, 29S mcat, (8ps 9vr 12 bs) = 10.6

finally got a decent mcat after years of 24-26's

Had a 1st quintile interview last year with 9.7 mcat, i guess mcat was low so didn't get in, have helped many with interviews who have passed through

agpa is 3.72 I am scratching my head as to why I can't seem to pass through. Out of Canada not an option since I cannot afford it.

Oh well, keep trying I guess. If anyone has any tips of what else could be improved/additional avenues (research?) that would be awesome

Will not give up! Congrats to those who got in this year, including several of my good friends. There will be some awesome folks in this years new class!

Accepted

In Province (IP)

aGPA: about 4.2

MCAT: 10.625

Non-Rural

Advanced Academics (PhD, pubs, academic appointment): None

Accepting Offer

Post MMI reaction: It was really hard to say since it was my first time applying, but over all felt okay. I was able to bring many personal experiences into my answers. As time went on I started to second guess many things that I mentioned in the interview, which I believe is a common mistake. Must have done better then I thought since I received an early admission.

Best of luck to all those waiting for June 2nd.

Accepted/Waitlisted/Regrets:Regrets

In Province (IP)/ Out of Province(OOP): IP

GPA(x.xx/4.5): 4.09/4.5

MCAT (xx.xx/15): 10.25

Rural/Non-Rural: 100% rural, have a yes answer to every question on the app

Advanced Academics (PhD, pubs, academic appointment): n/a

Accepting Offer/Declining Offer: n/a

Third application, second interview, second rejection. I prepared a lot for the interview this time, (was 5th quintile after my first interview, 2nd quintile this time around). In the meeting with admissions post rejection they said my MCAT was my downfall. Average this year was ~11, just to much below the average I guess! Rewriting MCAT.
