Jeez o.0

From what i've been told by my ortho, dentists in Alaska make LOTS of money, some are even breaking the millions mark, big shortage for both Physicians and Dentists there...

This is totally true! One of my friends live in Alaska. She said if you want to go see a dental specialist, like a oral surgeon, you have to fly down to Seattle. There's a few in Anchorage and Juno, but they're so overbooked that you have to wait months to get an appointment.

Yeah, the reason why Alaska is so empty is the place itself...nobody will get a Doctoral degree of studies to go live in a such place...

But some people took over the opportunity and established a practice there...

Yeah Alberta is not the nicest place! Calgary and its surrounding area is descent but everywhere else is boring! In terms of how much dentists make here, I can say that most dentist that I have come across make around 1 million or just under in a year (net). I thought that was normal, haha. Am I wrong?! :P

Overheads will cut that $1mill down to a small fraction. Regardless, $1mill net will still probably leave atleast $250k+ even after overheads so that's good. But average dentists make $130k in Canada.

No, not 1million gross. I said 1million NET. As in, after overhead deductions...

As in multimillion dollar homes, switching through ferraris, trips to Florida ordering hors d'oeuvres with views of the water kind of $1mill

i dont know where you got your numbers from but they're off...$1million gross does not translate to around $250k after overheads...average overhead for dentists is around 60% with the more efficient ones being being able to reduce it to 40-50% as well...taking this into consideration, a dentist who grosses $1 mil will probably be bringing in around $400 grand net at the least....

that is accurate yes. as far as the millionaires go..it takes a while to get there by building up your patient pool over the years with hard work and dedication. obviously helps to have graduated a while ago when tuition was virtually zip!
