Is an interview at Dartmouth THIS late just for the waitlist? Doesn't matter I'm going either way!

 

I have an interview at Kentucky March 22, which I know is for the waitlist (they emailed to tell me). Should I go?

 

Next year's applicants: APPLY EARLY. I knew it, and I still didn't do it.

Thunderclouds, you're going to DMS anyway so essentially you're just asking about Kentucky.

 

mlbn has it right above, it's definitely a "homey" school. I have no doubt you'd fall in love with it and the area. I'd interview if I had no acceptances and/or any reservations about schools I've been accepted to already.

 

By the way, AFAIK, DMS interviews in March are still for straight up acceptance (a la my friend last year). Good luck with any and all interviews!

I need some advice on my situation. I'm currently waiting on a school for the decision. I thought of sending them some update during this time. The update is poster presentation of my research work for Anaesthesiology conference to be held in the summer. The problem is I'm the fifth author. Is this still ok? Would this info help with my application and my acceptance?

It shouldn't hurt, and it may even help. Sending an update does 2 things:

 

1) It notifies the admissions committee about your progress. In this case, you should be proud that you're an author on a poster presentation. There's no need to call yourself "fifth author" in your update; just call yourself "an author", or, alternatively, include the list of author names with your name highlighted.

 

2)Sending an update lets the school know you're still interested in them, giving them a reason to open your file up again (even if it's just to slip the update in). In general, it's almost always to give the school a (positive) reason to look at your file one more time.
