Neurology Salaries

I'm interested in neurology but have heard some alarming things about the salary... can anyone give me some info?

 

Is it true that neurology makes less than internal med??? Or even general practitioners..?

Highly variable - but Neurology doesn't have a lot of procedural work, therefore the billing will generally be lower than other specialties/GIM subspecialties that do (e.g. Gastro, Cardio). GP earnings are so variable it isn't really worthwhile to compare them.

 

As with most areas in medicine, I think it is safe to assume you will be making around or over 200k+ if you work full-time.

Hmm, but there's many more procedures in Neuro than Psych, right?

I wouldn't say 'many'. Lumbar punctures I suppose. EEGs perhaps? I'm hitting a wall after that. Perhaps someone else can think of a few?
