Sorry if this has been asked before... I am wondering if someone got accepted after doing an unclassified studies, is it worth your time to do it to increase your GPA? It will be great if someone can share their experience. Thanks.

I got accepted after taking 1 term of unclassified studies. With the strange AQ formula, every % increase certainly helps. Just make sure you're taking upper level courses.

I don't think there is an issue with taking unclassified studies...the AdCom doesn't say it puts you at a disadvantage - all they told me was to make that I understand that taking "a few" courses will not make a significant change in your GPA...

 

I'm taking a special year myself to try and boost up my average ~2%. I'm hoping with that and a good NAQ I have a better shot at an interview...I wont know until I try!

I am not sure how helpful it will be since my aGPA is around 76%, can you please let me know what courses you took during unclassified studies. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Students who enroll in unclassified, non-degree programs for the sole purpose of improving their academic qualifications are advised that only a small proportion of such candidates gain admission.
