Your GPA is so high. Plus, it definitely sounds like you've had quite a few meaningful extracurricular experiences. I'm very sorry to hear this.

Also if I had space, I'd talk about how the experience shaped and improved certain qualities that would make a good physician.

So happy - last year I missed the cutoff by literally 0.9 points so very glad this time I got the interview!

PM for details!

I think that every med school has their own niche of students they're looking to fill their class, and just because UBC doesn't work out, doesn't mean that you won't get into other schools.

Can't wait to meet you all on interview day!

Congratulations to everyone with interview invites!

I'm a second year UBC family practice resident.  I would be happy to consult with folks with interview invites who are on Vancouver Island.  No charge.  MMI was a strength of my application from my estimation.  I was accepted in province (UBC) and out of province (Dal) for the two MMI's I did.

I've got plenty of experience doing interview prep for applicants pro bono.

I promised myself that if I got into medical school I would help others striving to get in.  This is one way I do it and I enjoy it.

PM me if you are an Islander with an interview and we can figure something out.

Last year's NAQ: 19, this year's NAQ: atleast a 29. What I learned: Fill up all the non-academic slots in your application (all 24 of them), and don't undersell yourself.
