Australia Internships For International Students

Recommended Posts

  • 5 months later...

Hi,

I'm in 4th year med at UQ, Australia and I can tell you that all students that had to repeat a rotation are exempt from the CMI program and therefore without a job for the rest of the year unless they were successful elsewhere. Australia (or I should say UQ in particular as I am not familiar with other schools) will fail students far more often than compared to the Canadian system, and it happens to some of the best students if they have a bad day, especially during an oral exam - I know one student in the honours stream during a joint PhD has failed due to one bad exam. The Obs/Gyn rotation alone has a fail rate of 5%; there are a total of 10 rotations for years 3 and 4.

Hope this helps!
