Queen's Invites/regrets 2015

REGRETS :(

 

wGPA: 3.97

MCAT: 12/10/12  (10 in vr)

ECs: emergency first responder, volunteer research, hospital volunteering, community volunteering, etc

Year: 3rd UG

 

Well I'm out of the run, time to get ready to apply again in the fall!

TIME STAMP: January 30
Result: Regrets
GPA: 3.96
MCAT: 12P, 13V, 10B
ECs: 5 years working in mental health / crisis counseling, 2 years international experience, misc community volunteering, Dean's honours list x2, no research (not for me)
Year: final year UG

 

Sigh. I don't really understand how Queen's works, maybe formal work experiences are not as valued?

Result: Invite 
wGPA: 3.97 (no weighting)
MCAT: 14/12/13
ECs: Lots of music related stuff, NSERC, poster presentation, tutoring, actor for medical exam, intramural sports for one season, volunteering at two hospitals, academic awards and some other stuff
Year: UG 3rd year

 

Really surprised with this one. I'm guessing I received an invite because I do a lot of different and diverse things, which Queen's seems to value..hmmm

MCAT: 10/10/11 (PS/VR/BS)
ECs: A little diverse but I’ll try. Paid and volunteer work with newcomer populations; high school sports at the national level; business competitions at the international; tutoring; university committees; exec & pres on a few clubs; choirs; lab research assistant; clinical research; principal investigator on a funded project; first author pub; awards for research, academics, and community service;
Year: 4TH Year UG

ECs: 4 years of research (3 publications while working with CAMH - 2nd/3rd author), Psychiatrist shadowing, VP of a club affiliated with the Canadian Liver Foundation, Part-time work at Oxford Learning Centre, Duke of Edinburgh (bronze, silver, and gold), Genocide research and acknowledgment, and a variety of other stuff
Year: post graduation 5th year UG
