Clinical Job Opportunity - Ophthalmic Technician

Job Description

Multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in Toronto with is looking for an ophthalmic technician.You will be working 2-4 days a week with the possibility of this becoming a full time position.

Starting salary for this position is $14-17/hour depending on prior experience.

 

REQUIREMENTS: you have to be either sometime who has higher education in a different field and is interested in a new long term employment, someone who aspires to pursue a carrier in medicine and have completed your undergraduate education, or a graduate of an ophthalmic assistant/technician program.

 

You will be an integral part of a team helping us provide state-of-the-art care to our patients of all ages.

 

THIS WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT POSITION FOR A CANDIDATE LOOKING TO ENTER MEDICAL SCHOOL OF OTHER ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS PROGRAM.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES will include performing all of pre-testing (OCTs, Visual Fields, Automatic Refraction, Lensometry) as well as obtaining detailed/accurate history, measuring visual acuities, performing pupillary testing and administering dilating drops. Prefer someone who either knows or can be trained on performing Goldman applanation tonometry.

 

Has to be able to work under pressure, see large volumes of patients in a day, be an effective team member.

 

THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION THUS GRADUATES OF MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAMS WOULD NOT QUALIFY.
