***I did not get a full file review. I applied to UBC because I am from British Columbia (born and raised), but because I am a mature student and have lived a rather complex life, I don't have a BC care card anymore. So, I missed the OOP cutoff by 0.4%, I thought I would apply though, because moving home has been my goal.  sent them a letter explaining why I don't have BC health care, and of the 10 years I have lived outside of BC, 7 have been as a full time student. Seems to have made no difference though.

Usually they send regrets for OOP first. OOP applicants are mostly from eastern Canada and have a later time zone as compared to local time. My guess is: Ontario applicants who are unfortunately rejected will receive regrets first. Last before IP applicants will be Alberta OOP applicants. Finally, it will be IP applicants. In other words, I think they try to aim sending the regret emails during late afternoon. So right now, Ontario time is late afternoon; it seems they may be receiving regrets first.

That seems like an unnecessary amount of organization.

Admissions don't care when OOP receives the email. As long as they send out everything before the office closes.

I feel like im gonna be sick to my stomach...can't handle waiting for an email for potentially 4 days....why is ubc so cruel

I won't be surprised if they are monitoring this post while having an office party  They probably look forward to this all year.....

Sorry to hear that's really rough. Messed up actually. To think that 0.4 percent on some random test or labs/paper marked by a grad student having a bad day....wow. I honestly think they should round those up to 85%.

Next cycle apply in the USA, get a file full review as it should be done!! Good luck!
