Wording Of Rejection Letter

Dear applicant,

 

Thank you for your application to the Doctor of Medicine program of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.  The Admissions Committee will review 3,921 applications this year for the 164 positions available and will interview approximately 575 candidates. After careful review of your application, we sincerely regret to inform you that you were not among those applicants selected for an interview. This decision is final and cannot be appealed.

 

Please note that our admission process consists of the following: eligibility requirements; academic excellence of marks; CASPer and autobiographical sketch review; interview and offers of admission.

 

Occasionally, vacancies occur during the interview process, Should this happen, you may be contacted (by telephone or by email) for an interview. We thus encourage you to continue with your education program to ensure that you fulfil all prerequisites.

 

We are governed by an internal policy which does not allow us to provide feedback on your application.

 

We wish you every success in your future endeavors.

Does anyone know if some applicants did NOT get the part about the vacancies? I'm wondering if there's a different email sent to those who did not meet some of the admissions requirements or if the vacancies thing is just part of the rejection everybody gets sent (whether or not they actually qualify for the interview stage)
