Will Donald Trump Be The Next President?

The only candidate I could support 100% is ron paul(but hes not even running). Donald trump is the lesser of the evils.

The democrats and the republicians are 100% controlled by lobbyist and special interests( military industrial complex, wall street, etc.) No change will occur if any other candidates wins and Donald trump is very disruptive to the corrupt two party system of coke and pepsi. Donald trump will not be controlled by the special interests.

Donald trump speaks truth and tells it like how it is without being politically correct which I highly admire about him.

If you get over his lack of pc^ness and listen carefully he is the only candidate talking about corporate bankruptcy laws and how its advantageous for corporations to declare bankruptcy, exposing high finance, addressing the national debt, saying the usa shouldnt be the policeman of world, etc. Very important issues.

Ralph Nader on trump.

Trump appeals to the suffering class of Americans. Over 3/4 haven't seen a raise in 10+ years, and he's promising financial recovery. This is one of many bases he is claiming to cover. (Immigration, Isis, etc). That combined with his ability to speak and entertain an audience will cause him to win, unfortunately.

I am in no way an advocate of Trumps campaign or support his actions, but he's very intelligent and most of what he says is true. He's been wanting to be president for a very long time and his decisions are calculated. Most of what he says is actually true

Can't even tell if you're trolling. I agree he is intelligent and makes very calculated decisions... but he is possibly the furthest thing from a truth teller.

Edit: "intelligent"

What's truly scary is how I've seen otherwise reasonable people buy into Trump - despite the fact that he's completely unqualified, divisive and ignorant.

It's a mass hypnosis reminiscent of very turbulent times.

The Washington Post had a good op-ed on this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/this-is-how-fascism-comes-to-america/2016/05/17/c4e32c58-1c47-11e6-8c7b-6931e66333e7_story.html

I'm surprised that no-one is making the connection between fast moving social change and the cultural rise in authoritarianism. See: Ferguson, Black Lives Matter, Trans-awareness, national legalization of gay marriage. Seriously, Trump is doing EXACTLY what Hitler did.  He uses thinly veiled one-liners, targets marginalized groups, and offers little to no solutions to real world problems. Old and weak people are terrified of the changing status quo, and what Trump signifies is someone willing to grab the reigns and "make America Great Again" (even this last one is a bit on the nose), regardless of how little sense goes into his policies. You know who else did this? Hitler.

And what policies are you guys even talking about? You mean building a giant wall? Rounding up Muslims and sending them all away? Or do you mean how he plans to deal with terrorists where he literally said, 'I'm gonna bomb the shit out of them', and ' You gotta hit these terrorist where it hurts. We kill their families.'

Nor is he for the golden age of capitalism with that make america great again nonsense. If he was, then he wouldn't have suppressed the unionization of his employees in his hotels. Donald trump is definitely NOT for the working class. He just uses left populism to attract the working class, when he really isn't for them.

I'm also surprised that anyone believes that a man that flip-flops on EVERYTHING is authentic about anything.  And do you all honestly believe that a man that got a 'small' loan of a million dollars from his family is actually going to be against legislature that reigns in the out of control financial sector. What is going on in here?

Christ, no wonder so many scientists fail the critical thinking/reading and writing/verbal reasoning section of the MCAT.

Damn, this thread really made me understand the importance of the social sciences/humanities studies in university.

There is very little awareness of historical precedents, especially the cult of personality/narcissism that Trump projects.  He is in court over racketeering (Trump University), but it seems as if it doesn't make a difference.  He brags about his success in casinos (great wholesome industry) which led to multiple bankruptcy proceedings.

I view my 12 VR (~130 CARS) to be an abject failure.  A 15 VR would have made my life so much easier.

Thoughts with the families and the victims of the shooting in Florida today.

I find it funny that most canadian MD hopeful students are hoping to get a 250k loc and yet they badmouth trump for getting a million dollar loan and turning it into an empire. Pretty hypocritical. For Many US hopefuls their loans will be even closer to what trump borrowed.
