Waitlisted

92%

22/23

finished undergrad

I am waitlisted both for UWO and U of T, but if I get in to both, probably I will choose schulich since at least from what my friends (few in U of T and a few in UWO) told me and what I have seen on the interview day, UWO has much a friendlier environment and less pressure and also class size is smaller. Also I have heard that getting higher grade in UWO is more likely so it would easier to get a good residency. However, if I just get in to U of T I would be more than happy :) finger crossed!

does anyone know how many students accepted from waitlist (for UWO) last year?

Does anyone know if we have to manually send our transcripts with the proof of our degrees on them, or if OUAC takes care of that for us? I know that I paid for a transcript to be sent immediately and for one to be sent after I was finished the year, but I'm not sure if I need to do anything to initiate my final transcript to be sent.

If you are blessed to be an undergrad at Western like I am (was?), then you don't have to do anything. Otherwise, I can't comment.

ALSO: Waitlist is moving, folks. Expect the majority of waitlist offers to be coming out in the next 2-3 weeks as all other schools finalize their decisions.

it's been a month since admissions were out and majority of the waitlist movement has already been done.. (since people have made their decisions and what not). I still haven't heard from the school and haha im getting depressed xD (I'm not trolling, I just thought I'd hear something by now? Its my first time applying to a professional school and being waitlisted).

I heard stories of people getting in August but not sugar coating anything, i probably should let it go, and think about next year's cycle, right? there's always luck involved im sure, but I should look for a job, do more schooling, maybe study for the DAT again right?

I'm reluctant to contact the school since they probably won't give me a lot of information and even if they tell me a lot of movement has occurred, oh man, I'll be sad haha. but i guess knowing that maybe I should move on?

Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you so much!

Best 2 yrs: 90.1% (full course load)

DAT: 22RC / 22AA

Graduated from Western in 2015 (Did a 5th year of UG)

Accepting

ABS stuffs:

-volunteered in a lab for a couple years during undergrad

-a very small amount of dental shadowing (both general dentist and specialist)

-partnered in creating an online study aid and collaborated with psychology researchers/professors to create a primary study

-lots of sports and sport related training

As for my marks, because I took a 5th year before graduating they said they combined two of my years (repeat years) so I'm not sure the exact best two years they used on my application. I'd say somewhere between 88% - 90%.

Been years of waiting to be able to make this post. Hang in there everyone and don't give up even if it seems impossible at times. Focus on ECs and doing some unique stuff as it looks like they are trending towards putting a lot more weight on that kind of stuff. Waitlisters, try not to stress out too much if possible, movement will continue right up until the end of August. Start looking into what the next step will be if you don't end up getting a call from Trish this year.

If anyone ever has any questions or would like some guidance feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to respond and give some insight to the best of my abilities.
