sandorclegane
Hi everyone, I submitted my application to UBC last week, and I already had a verifier contacted today! I was just wondering if this is a good sign because they're interested or a bad sign because they're doubting my activity description (which is all truth, btw)? Or am I really reading too much into this haha? OOP applicant btw (idk if that's relevant)
Soda_can_med
Did UBC call or email?
sandorclegane
They emailed my verifier. I've heard they usually email first, and only call if they don't hear back via email. If they don't hear back after calling or emailing verifiers, then they ask the applicant to provide an alternate verifier.
sandorclegane
Just adding that UBC did not inform me that they contacted my verifier...my verifier messaged me directly
lab2185
I wouldn't read too much into it unfortunately. I have applied more than once in the past. Both years verifiers were contacted. The first time I didn't get an interview and the second time I did. I am pretty sure they do a file review (AQ and NAQ and make sure MCAT meets cut offs), contact verifiers and then give you a total file score. It is only once they have everyone scored that they determine the cut off for getting an interview as far as I know.
