premedss
Hi everyone, I have a GPA of 3.67/4.00 based on 4 years (not including summer school) and 510 MCAT with 127 in CARS. Is it even worth applying as an OOP? I have filled out the application and sent my transcript, but I just feel very discouraged to hit that submit before tomorrow :/ Advice? barc16
What's your GPA based on their 4.5 scale? https://umanitoba.ca/faculties/health_sciences/medicine/admissions/8847.html According to their website, if it's less than a 3.94 and you're OOP then they literally tell you not to apply. I also believe they ask for a minimum total MCAT score of 512 but you should double check their website, I don't remember if it's a recommendation or a requirement. The higher the better and their interview invites are based on the formula of 27.3% AGPA + 72.7% MCAT
next.med88
To be completely honest, your chances are quite slim as an OOP. Whether to apply or not depends on you, if money is not a problem, then why not, you are not risking anything. But if money is an issue I wouldn't apply since your chances are practically zero. SkepticalStudent
The MCAT cutoff last year for the new MCAT was 512 but the lowest MCAT score for OOP interview invitees was 522. I likely wouldn't apply with a 510, although definitely double check what your GPA and AGPA are on their 4.5 scale, as recommended above.
