bellejolie
It started this afternoon - but it was MD/PhD rejections and partial file reviews only! Didn't make the academic cut by very little

potatoface
Regrets. Time to go kill myself. I don't know if you're being serious or not but either way, please don't! One rejection isn't the end of the world. Not going to med isn't the end of the world. You're going to do great in whatever your future is. Please, please, please talk to somebody about this. I wish you the best.
starsky
Regrets. Time to go kill myself. Potatoface is right, you have other options and you can always apply again in the future. After all, most people apply more than once.

medhopeful25
Just got results back after my first application. Feel absolutely gutted that my scores are so low. I don't know if it'll be possible to bring them up in time for the next application cycle. Seems as if cutoffs are usually in the 50's. :'( TIME STAMP: Mon, 4:51pm Interview Invite: Regrets, No Interview Early/Regular Deadline: Regular Interview Date: None GPA: 83% AGPA (if applicable): None MCAT: Over 520 ECs: No research or hospital volunteer. Lots of executive leadership roles and misc volunteering, in addition to a few high achieving passions that are not medically related. Year: 4th year undergrad Geography: IP NAQ (if applicable): 16 AQ (if applicable): 21 I'm so sorry to hear this. But do you think its your wording? I feel like your activities could put your NAQ score in the 20s though. Btw, is your average exactly at 83%? My average is relatively close to yours and I'm expecting my AQ score would be around that (it sucks to have a low average).

The main reason I applied was to answer two questions- how bad are they, and if I moved to BC and gained IP status, would I be competitive? The answers I got from this are; pretty bad, and no. Time to pump that 130 CARS for Western next summer eyyGood luck everyone!

amgman
TIME STAMP: Monday, 4:50 PMInterview Invite: RegretsEarly/Regular Deadline: RegularAGPA (if applicable): 92.67MCAT: Above cutoffsECs: Lots of research (pubs, conference presentations), hospital volunteering, leadership positions in school clubs, piano, and others.Year: 3rd year UG BScGeography: OOPNAQ: 24.46AQ: 35.25 TFR: 59.71 I definitely was not feeling too confident about UBC so it is nice to have some closure. Obviously my GPA was not of concern but I think what got me with my NAQ score were the descriptions for the non-academics and also not having as much "longer-term" activities. Congrats to those who are still in the running and I wish the best of luck to everyone!
