I am shocked. Didn't think I'd get any Canadian love at all.

Time Stamp: 15:57

Invite

2 Yr GPA - 3.87

MCAT: 128/126/130/129 but I'm not sure if they used my last Mcat where my cars was 127.

EC: non trad applicant working in healthcare. I've been a guest speaker at a few conferences for mental health, have a few abstract pubs, and just genuinely tried to sound like a human being on my ABS. PM if you want details.

Honestly don't give up. I was down and out last year and thought I'd have to go south of the border. I still might, but damn.. what an opportunity.

FREAKING OUT HERE! FIRST INVITE AFTER TONS OF REJECTS!

Timestamp: 4:09pm
Invite
IP
Currently in my last year of my second undergrad (previously completed a H.B Sc... messed up the first 2.5 years of my GPA pretty badly which is why any school that does cGPA rejected me)
3.9+ (last 2 years... thank the med gods that Queens overlooks the bad GPAs I got in my early uni days)
512: phys/chem: 127; CARS 126 (the internet disconnected and everyone in my sitting including me lost 3-5 min); Bio: 129; Psych/soc: 130
ECs: couple of research (but all in psych, which prob isn't "med" enough for other schools), 1 pub that was being reviewed at the time of application (now in press), 1 conference poster presentation, exec in student club but not very recent, some other EC like music etc, but no shadowing or volunteer abroad (seriously I was working 2 part-time jobs to support my finances... can't afford to pay $$$$ to volunteer in south america can I....)

This is my first time applying to med and since this is likely the ONLY invite I'll get, I'm nervous as heck that I may screw it up. If anyone wants to drop some advice for me (or just a virtual pat-on-back to calm my nerves), it'd be much appreciated =)

Result: Regrets :(

Time Stamp: 5:25 (Atlantic Time)

cGPA: 3.92

2 year GPA: 3.97

Year: 1st year MSc (prospectively finishing this Summer)

MCAT: 131/128/130/129 (518)

EC's: Employment: 6 years retail during high school and undergrad. Research: One publication, a few projects, 3 conference talks, several awards. Volunteer: previous coaching and ski patrol, tutoring and work at a local hospital more recently. Sports: Very into competitive cycling.

Geography: OOP

Really disappointed as Queen's was my main target. I felt like my stats were really competitive (got an interview at Ottawa). I guess I am left thinking my EC's must have been relatively weak.

Best of luck to everyone who got an invite!

Result: Regrets  :(

Time Stamp: 5:10pm EST

wGPA: 3.78

Year: Currently 5th year UG

MCAT: 517 (132 CARS, 130 B/B, 130 P/S, 125 C/P)

EC's: Nothing too impressive. Working/volunteering in a bunch of labs (no publications or presentations), some hospital volunteering, involvement in a few campus groups.

That GPA might have been a tad bit low. My ECs are also nothing special. Pretty sure that is what did me in. That low C/P score might also have played a part if that was below some sort of cutoff.
